Doo-Wop Legends Little Anthony and the Imperials to star at Resorts, July 21-23; 25

Atlantic City, NJ - June 15, 2007 - The fifties sound of Little Anthony and the Imperials will fill the Superstar Theater in July. Resorts Atlantic City announced a four-night engagement featuring Little Anthony and the Imperials, as the legendary doo-wop band will perform in the Superstar Theater, Saturday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 25 (Dark July 24).

Formed in 1957 and originally called The Chesters, Little Anthony and the Imperials gained instant success with their first single, "Tears on My Pillow." The 1958 single was a smash hit. In 1960, the band followed with "Shimmy, Shimmy Ko Ko Bop," another successful single.

The band continues to tour, selling out major venues throughout the country, dazzling audiences with its blend of R&B, soul and doo-wop. In fact, the group made such an impact with its original sound that other legendary artists - including Frank Sinatra, Reba McEntire and Linda Ronstadt - have covered songs by Little Anthony and the Imperials.

Anthony Gourdine, the singer with the unmistakable falsetto and impressive vocal range, leads Little Anthony & the Imperials. The New York City-born Gourdine - who hails from a musical family - is also a songwriter and producer for the band. Other members include Clarence Collins, a founding member, singer, producer and songwriter; Ernest Wright, producer, songwriter, and the band's manager; Harold Jenkins, a singer and the choreographer; John DiGiulio, drums and percussion; and Michael Raye, the musical director and conductor. Raye also sings, produces, arranges and plays the keyboard and piano.
